Anonymity Itches the Ass of Ranting Randell Again

If you live in the Wuss and you've been missing the Worcester Wonderland blog - you're in the fog. It's hands-down, one of the most entertaining local blogs worth reading.

Read WWW's latest blog titled Bill Randell: Fool, Hypocrite, or Un-American?
Read through the comment section for some pertinent points.

Anon hits it right on the head when he says, "I think posting anonymously puts emphasis on what you're saying, not who's saying it. That is just an unnecessary distraction and only serves to inflate your reputation with a suggested form of surrogate proof based on it, rather than focus on the issue at hand."

I've always believed anonymity helps keep the focus on the issue being discussed, rather than the character of the individual speaking. I thought it was just the Big Asshole in me, but it's a load off to see others appreciate this as well.

Look at that Wusstarite forum for example. Often times you'll see things like:

A: I don't like low income housing.
B: I think it's necessary.
A: You're a liberal cock-sucker.
B: No, but consider the needs of the less fortunate.
A: Your girlfriend Amy is a whore.
B: Your getting off subject here, and leave my girl out of this.
A: It's not my fault your poor darky!
B: Can we talk about housing?
A: Be a man and come see me in person bitch. I'll tell you all about it darky. Matter of fact, come to my Nola Fest if you got the balls!

You see what I mean?

Now, I've been called cowardly for not publishing my name next to my every thought, but here's the thing - many people read my blog who know me in "real life" and know my pseudonym. It's the readers of my blog who don't know me in real life that seem to get the most upset that they don't know my real name. I just can't see how this is relevant information. If we don't know each other in real life, maybe it's because I don't really want to know you.

How would it really benefit a chub like Randell if I commented, "Hi, My name is Michael Diamond, we don't really know each other outside of the blogosphere, but from what I can tell you seem to be a polyp on the colon of this town."

Would that suddenly make me a courageous guy? Would I be challenged to a duel? I've been slapped with the velvet glove before you know...

tha fuck?

Anonymity? That itch, if there's one, may be argued to be considered hypocritical. What if someone were to bring up real-estate deals that were quietly done, in the dark, with the help of a certain political buddy. Apparently, anonymity is good when it has a benefit of a pay off. The guy who pointed out retribution by political cronie's well knows what this city is capable of. Many of us know a few who had that not so hypothetical experience. Funny how the political hand moves in the shadows for such illegal activities. Yeah they want to know who you are so they can put the screws to you and anyone else who speaks freely. The constitution does not go far enough to protect free speech that is the problem.

Hey BA-Dude, aka BAD.
Appreciate the publicity.

Anonymity is an issue that's gonna make or break this society in the coming decade and Google is/will be the major culprit.

Williy W., or should that read Wile E. Wooster?

Relevant points.

I assume those real estate transactions you're referring to is none other than from Babs Haller & Boyfriend Co.?

Funny when that stuff came out in WOMAG a few years back, it was what impressed me about the rag. Today it's - yuck!

Hey, you the author of the "Worcester's Tea Party and other bullshit" blog?

Appreciate your rants dude.

A suggestion regarding posting on your blog, if I may.

Can you please change your blogs SETTINGS tab, under COMMENTS to "comment form placement" to "full page" please.
For some unknown reason I can't, and maybe others, place comments on your blog with the current configuration.

So where's Hairy T?
He usually comments on everything BA posts? But not this one.
Funny huh?

He's been creeping around my blog lately. Statestreet.com?

Still Love 'Ya Buddy! BA F'n rocks! The only problem with his blog is that he posts once in a blue moon. The guy is hardcore and sticks to his guns ...I offered him the opportunity to come make $75,000+ with full benefits as a graphic artist at State Street's marketing department and he turned it down! Didn't want to go corporate and have to get all suited up for work. Now there's a guy with some serious stones!

Keep up the good work, BA !!!
Fight the power! Me and Willy are sellouts and are high tech wage slaves...
